Safety and Health

One of NASA’s primary core values is safety, and KSC has a comprehensive safety and health management system that promotes a strong safety culture and provides support across the Center.  KSC’s safety organization works routinely with commercial partners to facilitate optimal and flexible partner operations that meet local, state and federal requirements, and ensure the high level of safety that aerospace programs require.  

Capabilities and Services

KSC personnel provide a wide array of safety, quality, and reliability expertise with knowledge in applicable NASA, OSHA, FAA, ATF, and Range requirements and other regulations appropriate to a multi-user spaceport.  Services available include, but are not limited to:

Accomplishments

KSC’s safety expertise has been utilized to: provide explosive siting of planned building and storage designs; perform range safety risk analysis of UAV operations and provide recommendations for safe execution; and assist in developing process safety management plans for future operations.
