KSC Master Plan Environmental Assessment (EA)
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration prepared this Environmental Assessment to evaluate the potential impacts of implementation of a Center Master Plan detailing a phased approach to facility construction, demolition, renovation, and infrastructure upgrades at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. The Proposed Action would support and enhance KSC with flexible processing and launch capabilities, robust infrastructure, and sustainable facilities over the next 20 years.

SpaceX Starship -Super Heavy Launch Vehicle at Launch Complex 39A
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prepared this Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to inform and support the decision on whether to issue Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) a new, or modify their existing, vehicle operator license for Starship-Super Heavy at Launch Complex (LC)-39A. This EIS analyzed the potential environmental effects associated with (1) the development of infrastructure at LC-39A to support Starship-Super Heavy operations, including testing, launches and Starship and booster landings at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), and (2) the FAA’s issuance to SpaceX of a new, or modification of their existing, vehicle operator license for Starship-Super Heavy operations at LC-39A and approval of related airspace closures.

Apollo/Saturn V Center Improvements – Environmental Assessment  

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration prepared this Environmental Assessment to evaluate the potential environmental effects from the implementation of various improvement projects at seven areas within the Apollo/Saturn V Center boundaries, which is part of the John F. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. These improvement projects would enhance the visitor experience by accommodating a projected 2,000 to 3,000 additional visitors annually to the Apollo/Saturn V Center and improving employee safety by reducing wildlife exposure at the existing employee parking areas.  The Apollo/Saturn V Center is approximately 3.9 miles west of Launch Complexes 39A and 39B in a restricted area and is only accessible as part of the KSC Visitor Complex Bus Tour. The Proposed Action would support NASA’s visitor program by providing employees and visitors with a safe and continued access to NASA’s history and launch viewing areas.

Final Environmental Assessment for Apollo/Saturn V Center Improvements

SpaceX Falcon 9 Program at Launch Complex-39A on Kennedy Space Center

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration prepared this Environmental Assessment to evaluate potential impacts on the natural and human environment associated with the Proposed Action to increase the annual Falcon launch cadence as well as the construction and operation of landing zones (LZs) at Launch Complex-39A on Kennedy Space Center. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to provide greater mission capability to the U.S. Government and commercial customers by increasing Falcon flight opportunities and supporting booster reusability with construction of Falcon LZs. The Proposed Action is needed to meet current and anticipated near-term future U.S. Government launch requirements for national security, space exploration, and science.
