The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) is a planetary defense-driven test of technologies for preventing an impact of Earth by a hazardous asteroid. \u00a0DART will be the first demonstration of the\u00a0kinetic\u00a0impactor\u00a0<\/em>technique to change the motion of an asteroid in space. \u00a0The DART mission is led by APL and managed under NASA\u2019s Solar System Exploration Program at Marshall Space Flight Center for NASA\u2019s\u00a0Planetary Defense Coordination Office<\/a>\u00a0and the Science Mission Directorate\u2019s Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC.\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
