NASA Prime Mission Assurance Engineer (MAE) – LVDC-1

  • The Mission Assurance Engineers monitor launch countdown operations 
  • Provides technical support as issues arise
  • MAE Prime will assign technical issues to subordinate engineers for assessment relative to their engineering discipline
  • Ordinarily, MAE Prime will be the single point of contact for his subordinates
  • MAE Prime provides “Go / No-Go” status to MAM

NASA Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance Manager (MAM) – LVDC-1

  • The Mission Assurance Manager supports launch countdown operations from MAM position in (LVDC-1)
  • Ensures final pre-launch processes are closed out
  • Evaluates and assess any anomaly issues for SMA concurrence with LSP decisions
  • Supports SMA Management with “Go / No-Go” during launch countdown polling

NASA Safety Engineer (SAF) – LVDC-1

  • The Safety Engineer monitor launch countdown 
  • Acts as the technical focal point for system Safety
  • SAF is responsible for ensuring any non-standard work performed during the launch process complies with all appropriate safety requirements
  • SAF provides “Go / No-Go” status to MAM

NASA Quality Engineer (QE) – LVDC-1

  • The Quality Engineer monitors launch countdown operations and is responsible for all the quality engineering and assurance activities
  • Ensures that processes and procedures are complied with in order to maximize mission success
  • QE provides “Go / No-Go” status to MAM

NASA Launch Vehicle Interim Response Team Chair (LV IRT) – LVDC-1

  • The LV Interim Response Team Chair activates the Interim Response Team to impound and protect data when directed to by the NASA Launch Manager
  • The LV IRT monitors the On Scene Commander communications to maintain knowledge of response status
  • Provides status of actions taken
